Automate an existing door · Brisbane northside
Keep the door. Add the opener.
Most manual garage doors in good mechanical condition can be automated without replacing the door. We check the door first, match a suitable opener, and leave you with remotes programmed and — where the system supports it — your phone as a remote too.
- Sectional, roller and tilt doors
- Door balanced before the opener goes on
- Remotes & phone control set up

What goes into it
Six parts of a proper opener installation.
- 01
The door is checked first
Balance, springs, rollers and tracks. An opener should never be asked to drag a door that needs a service — it fails early and dangerously.
- 02
The right drive for the door
Sectional and tilt doors take a rail-mounted opener; roller doors take a drum-mounted unit. Size and power matched to the door’s weight.
- 03
Mounting and alignment
Rail, bracket and arm set so the door runs straight and the motor isn’t straining at either end of travel.
- 04
Force and limits
Set so the door seats on the floor with the right pressure and reverses correctly on an obstruction.
- 05
Safety beams
Photo-eye sensors fitted and aligned near the floor — the thing that stops a closing door on a child, a pet or a bumper.
- 06
Remotes, wall button and phone
Remotes coded, a wall button fitted, and phone control connected where the opener supports it.
What to expect
A door that runs well by hand runs well on a motor.

The most important part of automating a door happens before the opener comes out of the box. If the door is heavy, stiff or unbalanced, the motor will be doing the springs’ job — and it will fail. So we check the door by hand, and if it needs a service or a spring first, we say so. Sometimes that’s all the door needs to be a good candidate.
Which opener?
We work with most common residential brands and will recommend a unit that suits your door, your usage and the features you actually want — not the one with the biggest margin. If you have a preference, tell us. We're an independent technician, not a dealer.
Older tilt and roller doors.
Many older doors can be automated, but not all. Tilt doors need the right arm geometry; some older roller doors need the drum and axle checked. We’ll give you an honest answer before you commit to anything.

How it works
Straightforward from the first call.
- 01
Tell us what it’s doing
Call or send an enquiry. We'll ask how old the door is, what happened before the fault, and whether anything's been tried.
- 02
We inspect it properly
The whole door system — not just the part that looks broken. Developing wear gets pointed out, not hidden.
- 03
You get the price first
What's wrong, what needs doing now, what can wait. Then the price. No pressure to proceed.
- 04
Fixed, often on the spot
If parts are on the van, the repair is usually done the same visit. If not, we return promptly — generally within a couple of days.
