Why won't my garage door open?

The common causes are a broken spring, a cable that's come off its drum, a failed opener, or a remote or power issue. If the door suddenly feels very heavy to lift by hand, suspect the spring and leave it alone — it's under tension. We'll confirm the cause on inspection rather than guess over the phone.

Can a broken garage door spring be repaired?

A snapped spring is replaced, not repaired — but that's often all the door needs. We check the cables, drums and balance at the same time so the new spring isn't carrying a hidden problem. Please don't attempt spring work yourself.

Should I repair or replace an old garage door opener?

It depends on the fault and whether parts are still practical for that model. Many older units can be made to work again. When they can't — or when a repair would cost close to a new opener — we'll say so and give you the price for both.

Can my existing garage door be automated?

Usually, yes. Most standard sectional, roller and tilt doors in good mechanical condition can take an opener without replacing the door. We check the door balances and runs freely first — an opener shouldn’t be asked to drag a door that needs a service.

How much does a garage door repair cost?

Pricing depends on the fault and the parts required. We inspect the door, explain what's needed and give you the price before proceeding — so you're never committed to a number set before anyone had looked at it.

Do you do industrial doors, gates or sheds?

No — we're a residential specialist. Standard domestic garage doors on existing homes across Brisbane is the work we do best, so it's the work we focus on.

Most residential drive units run for around 10–15 years before parts get hard to find. That doesn't mean every older unit needs replacing — we'll see whether it can be made to work first, and recommend a new opener when that's genuinely the better call.

Manual door you'd like to open from the car? Existing doors can usually be automated without changing the door itself. We'll match a suitable opener, set it up, program your remotes and — where the system supports it — phone control.
