Springs, cables & parts · Brisbane northside
The parts that fail, replaced properly — and usually on the first visit.
Springs, cables, rollers, hinges, locks, seals and panels are what actually wear out on a garage door. We carry the common ones on the van, fit them correctly, and check the rest of the door while we're there.

- Whole door checked, not just the part

Which part?
Start with what you can see.
You don't need to know the name of the part. Match the symptom and we'll take it from there.

The big three
Springs, cables, rollers — the parts behind most breakdowns.
They share the load, so they usually wear together. When one goes we look at the other two before it becomes a second call-out.
01Broken garage door springs
The most common sudden failure on the northside. Replaced with the right spring for the door weight, then balanced — not just swapped.
Faults & replacement
02Cable repairs
Frayed, snapped, or jumped off the drum. A cable rarely fails on its own — we check why, and check the spring and drums at the same time.
Faults & replacement
03Rollers & hinges
The usual cause of a noisy or rough-running door. Nylon rollers and steel hinges are on the van; replacing a worn set often transforms an older door.

How parts work is priced
Fit the right part once, and check what loaded it.
A part that fails usually has a reason — a spring that was the wrong size for the door, a cable running on a worn drum, rollers seized in a bent track. Replacing the part without the reason means doing it twice.
So every parts job starts with the door as a whole: balance, tracks, drums, the opener's force settings. Then the part goes in, the door gets set up properly, and you get told what else is showing wear — what needs doing now, what can wait.

What does a spring replacement cost?
It depends on the door type, size and whether one or both springs need replacing. We confirm the spring on inspection and give you the price before proceeding — with the cables and drums checked in the same visit.
How spring pricing worksSprings and cables are not a DIY job
Torsion and extension springs hold the full weight of the door, and the cables are under the same load even when the door is stopped. Please don't unwind, unbolt or cut anything — a released spring can cause serious injury. Leave the door as it is and call.
How it works
Straightforward from the first call.
- 01
Tell us what it’s doing
Call or send an enquiry. We'll ask how old the door is, what happened before the fault, and whether anything's been tried.
- 02
We inspect it properly
The whole door system — not just the part that looks broken. Developing wear gets pointed out, not hidden.
- 03
You get the price first
What's wrong, what needs doing now, what can wait. Then the price. No pressure to proceed.
- 04
Fixed, often on the spot
If parts are on the van, the repair is usually done the same visit. If not, we return promptly — generally within a couple of days.
