Spring replacement cost · Brisbane northside
What garage door spring replacement costs — and what decides it.
We don’t publish a flat spring price because there isn’t one: a single roller door spring and a pair of torsion springs on a double sectional door are different jobs. Here’s what sets the price, and how you get it before any work starts.
- Priced after inspection, before work
- One spring or two
- Cables and drums included in the look

What affects the price
Five things that set a spring replacement price.
- 01
Door type
Roller door springs live inside the drum; sectional doors use torsion springs on a shaft; tilt doors use side springs. Each is a different part and a different job.
- 02
Door size and weight
A double sectional door needs heavier springs than a single. Springs are sized to the door, not sold by the bag.
- 03
One spring or two
Two-spring doors are usually best done as a pair. You’ll get the price for both options.
- 04
Cables and drums
If the failure has frayed a cable or damaged a drum, replacing it now is cheaper than a second visit. Explained, then your call.
- 05
Spring availability
Common sizes are on the van. Unusual sizes are ordered — we’ll say so, with the price, up front.

common spring sizes for northside doors
We inspect the door, confirm the spring type and size, check the cables and drums, and give you the price before proceeding. There’s no charge sprung on you at the end, and no pressure to go ahead.
Why we won’t quote a spring over the phone.
A spring quoted sight unseen is a guess — and the guess tends to change on the day. A price after a look is a price you can rely on. If it helps, tell us the door type and whether you can see one spring or two, and we’ll give you a sense of the range.
Cheap springs cost more.
An undersized or low-cycle spring leaves the door unbalanced, wears the opener, and fails early. We fit springs sized to the door with a sensible cycle rating, and balance the door — so the job lasts.

How it works
Straightforward from the first call.
- 01
Tell us what it’s doing
Call or send an enquiry. We'll ask how old the door is, what happened before the fault, and whether anything's been tried.
- 02
We inspect it properly
The whole door system — not just the part that looks broken. Developing wear gets pointed out, not hidden.
- 03
You get the price first
What's wrong, what needs doing now, what can wait. Then the price. No pressure to proceed.
- 04
Fixed, often on the spot
If parts are on the van, the repair is usually done the same visit. If not, we return promptly — generally within a couple of days.
