Opener repairs · Brisbane northside
Garage door opener repairs — diagnosed before it gets condemned.
A fair number of openers that get written off could have been repaired. We check the door first, then the unit properly, and tell you what it actually needs — a setting, a part, or, sometimes, a replacement.

What's usually behind it
What goes wrong with openers.
- 01
Limit and force settings
The most common “fault” isn’t one — the settings have drifted and the door stops short, reverses or won’t seat. An adjustment.
- 02
Safety beam faults
Misaligned, dirty, or wiring damaged. The door won’t close and the opener light flashes.
- 03
Stripped drive gear
Motor runs, door doesn’t move. Common on units that have been lifting an unbalanced door.
- 04
Logic board
Intermittent operation, remotes that won’t code, a unit that’s dead. Boards are replaceable on many units where they’re still available.
- 05
Chewed or damaged wiring
Rodents and possums like garage ceilings. Wiring to the beams and wall button is a frequent casualty.
- 06
Worn chain, belt or carriage
Rattling, slipping, jerky travel. Adjustable or replaceable.
Before you call
Safe to check before you call.
- 01
Is the door the problem?
Disengage the opener and move the door by hand. Heavy or stiff means the door — usually a spring — not the opener. Stop there.
- 02
Check power and the beams
Opener light on? Both beam sensors lit and pointing at each other? Anything in front of them?
- 03
Wall button vs remote
If one works and the other doesn’t, the fault is in the one that doesn’t — often just a battery.

Don’t keep running a straining opener
A motor that groans or hums without moving the door is either lifting a broken-spring door or stripping its own gears. Every extra press does more damage. Stop, and call.

Honest
both prices when replacement is on the table
We disengage the opener and check the door by hand before we touch the unit. Then the unit: power, board, drive, gear, beams, wiring. Then the settings. That order finds the real cause instead of the loudest symptom, and it’s why our repairs tend to stay repaired.
Older units are repaired where it’s sensible.
Gliderol, Merlin, B&D, ATA, Steel-Line, Superlift, Boss and others — we know the older generations as well as the current ones. If parts are available and the repair is worth it against a new unit, we repair. If not, you'll hear that honestly, with both prices.

How it works
Straightforward from the first call.
- 01
Tell us what it’s doing
Call or send an enquiry. We'll ask how old the door is, what happened before the fault, and whether anything's been tried.
- 02
We inspect it properly
The whole door system — not just the part that looks broken. Developing wear gets pointed out, not hidden.
- 03
You get the price first
What's wrong, what needs doing now, what can wait. Then the price. No pressure to proceed.
- 04
Fixed, often on the spot
If parts are on the van, the repair is usually done the same visit. If not, we return promptly — generally within a couple of days.
