Garage door remotes — replaced, added and programmed on the spot.

Lost a remote, need one for a second car, or bought a new one that won’t code? It’s a small job and we’re happy to do it. Bring the opener brand to the phone call and we’ll usually arrive with the right remote.

What we do with remotes

Five remote jobs, all small.

  1. 01

    Replacement remote

The right remote for your opener’s brand and generation, coded before we leave.

  2. 02

    Extra remotes

One per car, one for the shed. Most openers store several.

  3. 03

    Programming

New remote won’t pair? Older openers have their own procedures; we know them.

  4. 04

    Lost or stolen remote

We clear the opener’s memory and re-code the remotes you still have, so the lost one no longer opens your door.

  5. 05

    Wall button and keypad

Internal wall buttons and external keypads fitted and coded.

  6. 06

    Phone control

Where the opener supports it, your phone set up as a remote — and honest advice where it doesn’t.

Remotes, honestly

A small job is a small job.

Remote work is quick and we price it that way. If it’s the only thing your door needs, that’s all you’ll pay for. If we’re already there for something else, it’s usually done in the same visit.

The right remote for the opener.

Remotes aren't universal — the brand and generation of the opener determine what works. Merlin, Gliderol/Glidermatic, B&D, ATA, Steel-Line, Superlift, Boss and Centurion each have their own, and older units differ from newer ones. Tell us the brand and, if you can, the model on the unit's label, and we'll bring the right one.

Security when a remote goes missing.

A lost remote still opens your door. We clear the opener’s memory and re-code your remaining remotes, so whoever has the old one is locked out. Worth doing promptly.

How it works

Straightforward from the first call.

  1. 01

    Tell us what it’s doing

Call or send an enquiry. We'll ask how old the door is, what happened before the fault, and whether anything's been tried.

  2. 02

    We inspect it properly

The whole door system — not just the part that looks broken. Developing wear gets pointed out, not hidden.

  3. 03

    You get the price first

What's wrong, what needs doing now, what can wait. Then the price. No pressure to proceed.

  4. 04

    Fixed, often on the spot

If parts are on the van, the repair is usually done the same visit. If not, we return promptly — generally within a couple of days.

  • Some “universal” remotes work with some openers, but plenty don’t — especially with older or rolling-code units. A remote matched to your opener’s brand and generation is far more reliable, and we can supply and code it.
