What's the opener doing?
Start with the symptom.
An opener that hums, clicks or does nothing is not automatically a dead opener. These pages cover what's usually behind each one.

What we do with openers
Three jobs, one honest answer about which you need.
Most calls land in one of these. We'll say which — and if the cheapest one is the right one, that's the one you'll get.
01Automate an existing door
Keep the door, add the opener. We check the door balances and runs freely first — an opener should never be asked to drag a door that needs a service.
What's involved
02Motor & drive unit replacement
Most residential units run 10–15 years before parts get hard to find. When yours is genuinely done, we match a suitable replacement and set it up properly.
What's involved
03Opener repairs
Limits, logic boards, gears, safety beams, wiring chewed by something small and furry. Older systems welcome — we don't write a unit off for its age.
What's involved
Repair or replace?
Older doesn't always mean finished.
A lot of northside homes have an opener that's 10, 15 or 20 years old. Some of those are worth repairing; some aren't. The honest answer depends on what's failed, whether parts are still practical for that model, and what a repair would cost against a new unit.
We'll look at the door as well as the motor — a unit that's straining against a heavy, unbalanced door will fail again, whatever's bolted to the ceiling. Then you get both numbers, repair and replace, and the recommendation. No pressure either way.

Pricing
What does a new opener cost?
It depends on the door, the drive type and the features you actually want. We look at the door first, then quote a suitable opener installed and programmed — with your remotes and, where supported, phone control set up before we leave.
What goes into an installationBefore you buy a new remote
A remote that's stopped working is usually a battery, a lost code or a receiver — not a reason for a new opener. Bring the remote to the phone call; we can often tell you what it needs before anyone drives anywhere.
Brands & systems
We work on most common residential brands — older and newer.
Independent technician. We service and repair these systems; we don't act as a dealer or warranty agent for any manufacturer.
How it works
Straightforward from the first call.
- 01
Tell us what it’s doing
Call or send an enquiry. We'll ask how old the door is, what happened before the fault, and whether anything's been tried.
- 02
We inspect it properly
The whole door system — not just the part that looks broken. Developing wear gets pointed out, not hidden.
- 03
You get the price first
What's wrong, what needs doing now, what can wait. Then the price. No pressure to proceed.
- 04
Fixed, often on the spot
If parts are on the van, the repair is usually done the same visit. If not, we return promptly — generally within a couple of days.
Automation — straight answers
Questions we get about openers.
Can’t see yours? Ask on the phone — it’s usually a two-minute answer.
0408 190 595Usually, yes. Most standard sectional, roller and tilt doors in good mechanical condition can take an opener without replacing the door. We check that the door balances and runs freely first — if it needs a service, that comes before the opener.
